Subscriber Letter 1: updates
I have had a couple friends here on Substack mention to me that the way I am organizing my posts make it impossible to find any of my smaller posts. I have been listing shorter posts or updates on “Notes”, completely ignoring my email subscribers. One friend suggested that I post these shorter posts and updates in the normal feed so my email subscribers can receive them too. I agreed. It turns out that even after several months of using Substack, I still don’t fully understand the format.
That being said, I am going to start adding some updates into the feed so you can be notified when I make a major update to a post. Sometimes I may just mention that I have added some photos or added significant sections, which I will quote the new section in the email so you don’t need to completely re-read the article. There are quite a few of these emails to start as I have been posting these updates in Notes for quite a while now. This may be a little overwhelming, so I will spread them out over a week or two and if you would rather not read so many updates or you have already read them, you can differentiate them from other posts as they have the word “Update: ” in the front of the title.
Any update posts will probably be deleted in a week or so after I send. If you have likes or comments, I ask that you leave them on the original post, which will be linked in the updated post.
